Introducing our newest and youngest employee, Jake Millott. Jake joined us in September 2009 as an apprentice carpenter and joiner and will be following the ConstructionSkills Apprenticeship Programme. He is due to complete his apprenticeship in September 2012.
21 year old Jake’s hobbies are skateboarding and snowboarding and he particularly enjoys being outdoors; hence his choice of career on site with his colleagues on the installation team. He takes great pride in paying attention to detail and the high standard of workmanship which is an expectation at Parsons Joinery. He takes pleasure in witnessing the finished result of our labours especially as we regularly work on some very beautiful properties in stunning locations in Sussex and beyond.
He is making excellent progress with his studies at college, working four days on site and having one day study at college on a Friday. He is expected to keep a very detailed account of all of his achievements and experiences which includes photographic and written evidence. He particularly enjoys liaising with customers, ensuring their complete satisfaction and acquiring new skills such as fitting ironmongery, letterplates and locks.
Jake is one of a number of apprentices that have been employed by us, two of which, Shaun and Luke, have achieved NVQ level 3 qualifications and still remain with the company several years after qualifying.
As a company, we are committed to investing in training our staff, updating and improving their skills set in house or using external training providers.
