2020 has been full of history-making moments that none of us will forget in a hurry.  For the team here at Parsons, like so many small businesses in the UK, it has been a temperamental year.  We take a look back at some of the highs and lows of the last twelve months…

The initial spring lockdown was a very uncertain time.  We have a few vulnerable members of staff on the team so keeping them and other staff members safe was our top priority and we are delighted to say that to date, we have had no confirmed COVID-19 cases at our workshop at all, so the staff did a great job at adhering to all the guidelines and protecting one another.

From a business point of view, it seemed impossible to determine in those early days how our business would be affected by Covid-19.  What could we do for our staff?  How were we going to keep staff safe both in terms of health and financials?  Would our company bounce back?  Can we continue to work and keep customers safe?  So many questions that initially we just could not answer, which was a worry for us all.

Our biggest challenge of 2020 was trying to meet customer timelines and deadlines whilst dealing with COVID-19 and keeping our staff and customers safe.  We had to shut the workshop during the first lockdown and kept our customers continually updated as to how this would impact lead times.  A lot of customers had building projects that they could not afford to let the timelines slip on, so keeping all our customers happy was a challenge.  Luckily, our customers have been fantastic and very understanding which we are truly grateful for.

Weathering the Covid storm was a massive achievement for our company.  More than ever the team has shown great persistence, determination, and professionalism in delivering their work, as well as compassion for the needs of the customers.  We’ve witnessed a fantastic display of teamwork.

On top of all of that we welcomed two new members of staff.  Nigel joined the machine shop at the start of the year and this month, Martin has joined the joinery shop – a big welcome to both of you into the Parsons fold.

So, what’s new for 2021?  Well, we are looking forward to doing more installations in the local area and working with our customers to create beautiful, bespoke joinery.  Plus, we’d all quite like to squeeze in a holiday somewhere!

A HUGE THANK YOU TO EACH AND EVERYONE OF THE TEAM HERE AT PARSONS JOINERY FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK AND MOST IMPORTANTLY A MASSIVE THANK YOU TO OUR CUSTOMERS FOR CHOOSING US AND SHOWING SUCH COMPASSION AND SUPPORT FOR OUR COMPANY.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy, positive, and prosperous new year.
