Bespoke replacement timber casement windows and doors in Brighton
Case Study – December 2024
Parsons Joinery recently completed the installation of a number of bespoke, timber, double-glazed casement windows and doors to a property on Harrington Avenue in Brighton. Parsons Joinery are experts in replacement timber windows and doors in Brighton, and further afield!
Our client contacted us as their original timber windows were showing signs of rot, were draughty and the single glazing meant their energy bills were sky high! The property dates from 1949 and differs from other properties along Harrington Road BN1 as they were built in the 1930s. As the property falls within the Preston Park Conservation Area our in-house planning team were asked to prepare and submit a planning application for the works before the manufacturing process began. The planning team prepared detailed drawings for the application and submitted this to the local authority. Permission was granted by Brighton and Hove City Council.
Our client originally had leaded glass in their windows, but decided to change this to a timber glazing bar design. The rear doors were originally a Critall style but they decided to replace these with timber doors.
The replacement windows & doors were manufactured in our workshops and installation was carried out in late 2024 by our skilled site carpenters.
