There is no doubt that a good local joiner will produce some beautiful windows and doors and be able to fit them for you but, there is often a misconception that a joiner will not glaze the windows, or even finish them with paint or wood stain, meaning you are left to employ a number of different tradespeople in order to get your project finished. At Parsons Joinery, this couldn’t be further from the truth. We design, manufacture, glaze, paint or stain, and fully install your windows for you to ensure a consistent and attractive finished look. We will manage and execute your entire project from beginning to end.
Unrivalled quality and service without the hassle
We are proud members of Made in Britain, a campaign supporting British manufacturing. We make all our own products in our workshop in Ringmer, East Sussex which alongside our wealth of experience and our homegrown talent, allows us to provide customers with a truly personal service and gives us complete control over quality. If you have a vision, we can create it.
The choice of timber we use is entirely up to you. Typically, we use softwood with hardwood sills for our windows and doors. The softwood we use is a kiln dried redwood which is generally more thermally efficient than most hardwoods. Our sills are always made from hardwood as it’s the area that is most susceptible to the weather and risks decay. We often use Meranti hardwood and all our products and all our timber comes from FSC and PEFC certified forests. So, if your windows are installed by us, you can rest assured that the wood used to create your products is of exceptional quality, sustainable and good for the environment. How many large window manufacturers can promise you that?
Prior to painting our windows, we use a Teknos End Grain Sealer which seals the wood on the face/end grain and prevents it from starting to dry, so that it evens out the drying on the piece of timber. We then apply two coats of Teknos Water-Based Primer (ensuring that the timber dries between coats to offer full protection). This is a very important part of protecting the wood and goes towards guaranteeing the performance of the windows and doors.
Following the primer, two coats of Teknos Water-Based Topcoat is applied, and we are vigilant at checking each item between coats to ensure full adhesion and protection.
We also use spray paints for all our windows which achieves a perfect, seamless finish with none of the brush strokes or paint runs that you can get with hand applied paint. If you cannot find a colour you like within our preferred Teknos (low VOC) paint range, we are able to colour match paint to ANY paint brand including Farrow & Ball, Dulux, Little Greene, and Fired Earth.
The paint finish of your windows will be unrivalled, compared to a closely controlled factory facility and because we handcraft everything ourselves, you have complete control over their design – if you want the finish on the internal to match your internal woodwork and interiors but have white on the external, then you can. If you want to mix and match colours, it’s no problem. Plus, you will know the exact quality control process your windows have been through before they are installed in your home.
Passion for our craft
We are not only passionate about our well-honed craft but, as a family business that’s been built up from scratch, we genuinely care about our customers, our staff and the service we offer. As an independent business within our community, integrity for customers is common practice for us. When customers know the people behind the product it enables a better community connection and delivers a personalised service that just cannot be matched when buying from a large chain business.
We believe that the human element of making doors and windows will always be crucially important. When combined with our state-of-the-art technology (that helps speed up the process), we hold the winning formula for creating completely unique products with consistent, quality standards that surpass those of rival window manufacturing brands.
Unlike most window companies, our customer care doesn’t just end once installation is complete either, we offer support and advice post installation to ensure our products deliver longevity and quality for years to come.
Expert knowledge of all property types
We regularly work with period properties, listed buildings and other unique spaces. We can adapt our products to accommodate any property type and style, whether it is contemporary or traditional, modest or grand.
