Over a period of several months, we were involved in renovations to this delightful brick faced terraced cottage located within the Conservation area of Lewes. All of the windows were replaced throughout the property. Vertical sliding box sash windows hung on traditional weights were fitted at the front and rear, a sliding Yorkshire window in the kitchen and a side opening casement in the bathroom.
Custom-made shutters hung on parliament hinges were fitted to the windows for increased privacy and the existing front door was replaced with a four panel door with bolection moulding.
As space was at a premium, various storage cupboards were incorporated within the under stairs space, under the windows in the bedrooms and a storage cabinet with magnifying mirror in the bathroom.
New glazed patio doors lead out to the secluded, walled and terraced garden and a new staircase was built and installed to meet with current Building Regulations.
