Our clients, who own a flat in a townhouse in London which has a flat roof, wanted to form a roof garden with access via a sliding lantern which would also create an interesting feature whilst lighting a dark stairwell.
We supplied a custom-made roof lantern, 2150mm long by 1000mm wide, for their contractor to assemble and fit onto a prepared aperture with a sliding mechanism. They have finished the idigbo timber internally to match the oak steps which lead up to the opening.
‘We required a lantern roof for a flat in London and were aware of Parsons Joinery through the British Woodworking Federation. Their website showed lantern roofs of various designs and they were able to help enormously with all my requirements. We could not fault in any way their administration, the product, or the degree to which they assisted by marking up the components, as it was to be assembled on site. This latter point being most important and had a major impact on the assembly time and gave comfort in the knowledge of getting it right.
The final result is something which gives everything we wished for and more. It offers the most beautiful and varied light, allows access to our roof space and is a pleasure simply to look at.
Thank you to Joanne, Paul and all the others who made it possible at Parsons Joinery.’
