Located in the highly desirable Pembroke Conservation area, this substantial, red brick late Victorian, semi detached property had historically been fitted with ill conceived uPVC bay windows and doors on the front elevation. We were commissioned to restore its former beauty by manufacturing and installing replacement timber joinery more in keeping with the age and style of the property and matching with the architectural detail of properties in the rest of this residential area.
Practicality and beauty were restored with the installation of traditional box sash windows operating on sash weights and cord, glazed with 24mm argon gas filled double glazed units giving the thermal values required by current Building Regulations. The fine glazing bar detail in the top sash was achieved with applied timber beads on the exterior of the windows and inset spacer bar within the double glazed unit.
A painter and decorator completed the final effect by painting the installed joinery in situ in order to achieve an authentic paint finish.
